I-PHONE 3G APP STORE TO HOST LOADS OF HOME ATOMATION PROGRAM

07.09.2008 — Another iPhone interface for Crestron home automation will be available at Apple's iPhone App Store on July 11. (The first one we wrote about is the AirRemote.)

The interface, called iLoveControl comes from Crestron programmer Exceptional Home Automation in Weston, Fla.

For the first 30 days after launch, iLoveControl will offer a one-room Crestron solution free of charge, configured for the control of lights, drapes, HVAC, audio and video.

If you want more than that, you pay.

Felipe Gomez, director of the company, says integrators can provide more advanced customization in one of two ways: by themselves, or from iLoveControl directly.

Dealers can complete a form on the "Integrators" page of the iLoveControl Web site to add up to 16 zones of audio, video, lights, drapes and HVAC. There, they specify sources such as CD players, satellite receivers, iPods, Kaleidescape and other media servers, tuners and the like.

"And you can select scenes like All Off, Away, Home, Party and Romance," Gomez says.

After dealers pay by credit card or Paypal, the specified configuration is downloaded into the iPhone. The cost is $250 per configuration.

"For more advanced users," Gomez says, "we will offer a Configuration Wizard (PC) that will allow you to add more rooms and further customize your system."

Pricing for the Wizard has not yet been released.

Gomez says his company is eager to work with other control companies that offer IP-enabled controls. "We would like to see other systems support a similar setup, and we are willing to work with them to achieve it," he says.

iLoveControl joins a growing list of home control manufacturers with iPhone interfaces, including (HAI, Savant), multiroom audio (SpeakerCraft), media servers
(Sooloos), and so much more.
