DEEPFISH mobile browser from Microsoft


















Microsoft released CTP version of new mobile browser Deepfish. It has zoom-able interface and cue map feature which brings desktop experience to mobile browsing.

Currently, mobile version of internet explorer is in use in Windows Mobile. It has many limitations. In order to overcome these limitations, web developers deloped mobile versions of their sites. With Deepfish, we can view websites in their desktop form.


Limitations of Deepfish Browser:

1. CTP Version does not support websites with AJAX, Java script, Cookies and ActiveX controls.
How to use ‘Deepfish’ mobile browser?

How do I click on Hyperlink?

• Once Zoomed–in, Press the joystick, to snap to the clickable elements on the web page.

• Navigate the Left, Right, Up or Down using the joystick to move between elements.

• Press the joystick to navigate to the link.

How do I input on Form elements and post it to the web?

• Once Zoomed–in, Press the joystick, to snap to the clickable elements on the web page.

• Navigate the Left, Right, Up or Down using the joystick to move between elements.

• Once on Form element, press the joystick which brings up an input box.

• Type in the content and press Ok.

• Navigate the Left, Right, Up or Down using the joystick to move to the associated button.

• Press the joystick.

Deepfish is definitely a promising application from Microsoft. Does it answer all problems of Mobile community? Wait and watch.
